Atlantic City has casinos. We need a reason for players to come here. Getting called up is the only things we've got. But as others have mentioned, perhaps we can be 'everyone's' affiliate, and just rent players out to the entire AHL. If we can pull that off, then we'd potentially get a lot of players. We wouldn't keep them for more than a month, but we'd get a lot Brian_V

Then exactly outside the afflication does teams like Elmira and Trenton have to entice players to come there. Ever been there? One city is boring is h*ll and the other is loaded with crime.

With no coach and no affiliate are the Chiefs getting the top prospects ? This is going to be a tough season because of these two things. I hope I am wrong but I see the Chiefs bringing up the bottom of the league. With an affiliate you might get some guys that are struggling but you get a lot of players with some skill. This thing without a coach is really troubling me. Betting a lot of coaches don't want to be here because the franchise is in such poor shape. There was 3 second round draft picks and 2 players go on to play in the NHL last year from the opening day roster. Those 5 players were all products of the Chiefs NHL affiliates. An NHL affiliate is the only chance to be successful. Trivia: Who was the first ECHL team to have an NHL affiliation? Yeah yeah and the Chiefs will still get no coach, win absolutely no games, finish dead last and lost all their games by large margins. Anything else you want to contribute to the gloom and doom you bring here all the time? Oh BTW, if it's troubling you so much, maybe you shouldn't bother coming to the games if your not going to enjoy yourself. Regardless of what happens, i'll be there for atleast 80 percent of the home games wearing my black Chiefs jersey in all. I'll also be traveling to a few games this year like Toledo K-Zoo, Elmira and of course: Wheeling.

Josh, Kris Mayotte should be back. I mean we heard it straight from the horse's mouth. As for Ian Keserich, he was better than Andrew Penner, but not much. maybe we have two goalies line up already, but that is just a thought. Bredin said we have over 20 signed already. As for the Nailers, David Brown will not be back as he has not resigned with Pittsburgh yet. Darling is an AHL caliber goalie. However, I think he will Wheeling's goalie this year. But I hope not. I tell this Pohlfan, that we fantastic if he returns for next year. There would of been alot of games we would of might lost if it wasn't for his subperb goaltending.

I have been going to games for 37 years through the good times and the bad. I am not a fair weather fan but a realist. The facts of life that things are as bad on and off the ice for the Chiefs. The no affiliate thing is a reflection on this. The no coach with less than a month to go in this season is a real concern. I was at all the games in the mid 90's when things were almost this bad and the teams didn't play a meaningful game after Christmas. As I stated in previous posts I hope I am wrong . Elmira and Trenton have players because of the affiliations. They draw free agent who want a chance to move up. That is why I keep saying how important affiliations are. You just don't realize the fact. I still will enjoy myself . When you get to be my age winning and losing just isn't that important anymore.

And we appreciate your 37 years of dedication of hockey, i'm serious about that. But seriously I don't need to be in my 40's to realize winning and losing isn't important anymore. Regardless of all of that I come to see play and that's it. Maybe you don't think this way but I do. I'll say this again, afflications dosen't equal to championship teams atleast in our case. Our afflications last year gave up good talent only to snatch them away in mid season when we really needed them the most. I get what your saying and i'm sure everyone else here does as well.
